This site attempts first to describe our Centre, our worship, ministry, teaching and theological direction. Please don't let any of that discourage you from continuing! What's most important is that we get great joy from what we do and we want to give as many of you as possible a chance to share that joy.

Beyond the nuts and bolts information, there are three main themes on our site:

1. - We believe that everyone has a spiritual component to their life and, regardless of a person's church attendance or lack thereof, we are all on a life-long Spiritual Journey. That journey is built from the relationships and experiences of our everyday lives as well as any distinctly spiritual or religious activities we undertake. While some of these Spiritual Journeys will vary widely from others, all are valid and to be honoured equally. Hopefully, this will explain a lot of the seemingly 'non-churchy' material you will find here.

2. - We believe that Jesus' story took place when, where and how it did to make the believers of his time see that they had been seduced into collaborating with the injustices of the Roman Empire. Jesus was crucified because humanity could not break the addictions to power and privilege, and injustice remains the central reality of the world. Today that injustice comes from many types of Empire and we see ourselves as charged with the responsibility to do all we can to carry on the work of Jesus which we call Building the Kingdom of God, Here on Earth.

3. - For us, Christian life is all about relationships. Relationships with our friends, our families, with our guide Jesus and with the Divine. Our closest and richest relationships come from our life-long experiences, every place we go, every person we meet, every activity we undertake. Such relationships are much deeper than words or rituals and will bend as we change and age, but will not easily break. Scripture to us is an important part of our relationships with Jesus and the Divine but is not taken as being inerrant or supreme. Ritual helps to remind us of the life and teachings of Jesus and of our ancestors' experiences with divinity but, again, is secondary to our personal relationships.

Here is a suggested path for a new visitor to get a feel for the website and our centre quite quickly:

1. - Use this link to go back to our Home Page, click on the link to "Progressive Christianity" and please read the 8 points found there. These are the basis for how we "do church". Then come back here.

2. - Go back to the Home Page and click on the link to the "A New Way to do Church" section and spend some time looking through the sub-sections found there. Then come back here.

3. - Go back to the Home Page and click on the link to the "Building the Kingdom" section and spend some time looking through the sub-sections found there. Then continue exploring the rest of the site, come back often and please drop in at 163 Station Street, Duncan BC to talk or find out more anytime. We would love to get to know you and you will not feel pressured to join up or make changes to your lives or your beliefs. If you feel a yearning to centre your spiritual journey and to become part of a family of seeking and learning Christians, we hope you will give us a second look.

A few notes about navigation and material on our site:

- Most pages, like this one, have a link to take you back to our home (index) page.
- Some pages have a link to take you back to the index page for a current section such as "Journeying with Jesus".
- There are a number of videos linked from our site. Most are on YouTube so, if you are set up to view YouTube they will work just fine. If you get a message to download applications, plug-ins, helpers or codecs, you should be able to just follow the directions
- If you have any difficulty, please use the "Webservant" link found on many pages to notify us, we will answer your message.
